US L&T Solid 8-Lam
Before shipping to your site, the log home is examined to make sure each piece of your home has passed our quality control examination. Then the timber package is stacked, loaded and wrapped on trailers or into containers ready for transportation.
Full visual inspection of all timbers prior to shipping.
Wrapped timbers and loads covered/protected as needed.
USLT On-Site Experts
The delivery of the log home package is accompanied by a U.S. Log & Timber Technical Expert - unless not requested or needed by customer.
The assistant will be with you for the entire stack of the log home package to advise and assist your general contractor in the proper assembly. We can also contract with you or your builder for one of our crews to handle the assembly. It is usually a cost and time savings.
Delivery lead time – Plan on 6 to 8 weeks from the time you place your order to delivery. Note: Spring & some seasonal lead times can run longer. Be sure to coordinate your schedule so that we can deliver your home when you are ready for it.
Access to your site – When planning your infrastructure, keep in mind that our tractor trailers need wide, fairly straight roads to reach your site. You will receive a “Getting Ready for your Home Package” instruction packet at least 4 weeks prior to shipping to inform your builder and all concerned regarding arrival requirements.
Unloading – Make sure you have your work crew scheduled to be on site when your home is delivered. Check with USLT to determine the kind of equipment and workmen you’ll need on hand to unload your particular design.
USLT On-Site Experts
During this initial log home build, your general contractor will simultaneously prepare your foundation and sub-floor at your build site. When the sub-floor is ready, the completed hand crafted log shell package can be delivered.
Pre-cut in our mills – We are able to save time and on-site cutting by pre-cutting each log on our state of the art house line so that they interlock and provide a solid fit.
Insul-Lam™
Optional insulation package – To increase the natural R-factor of logs, we offer an insulation package. An added benefit of this insulation package is the ability to run electrical wires without the need for on site drilling in the log walls resulting in savings.
Log facing styles – Whether it’s a modern, luxury, milled finish look of laminated timber or even a rustic, pioneer style of log, US Log has a number of different looks to choose from.
Note: We still produce traditional log homes. Although we don’t get a lot of requests from the majority of current home buyers for rustic homes - we do still get calls for situations that nothing can answer like a massive timber lodge or structure. Although we are committed to engineered timber solutions for housing, when it comes to “rustic logs, “ we are big believers in big-diameter log structures. We would rather see those beautiful, huge, grandfather trees that die during fires, be used to make legacy lodge home structures than be cut up into 2x4’s.
